Dr. Gunness has served as a principal investigator for several research projects, which has been selected at several distinguished scientific conferences and symposiums. His research interests runs the gamet when comes to public health, behavior modification, health educaiton, science, and medicine. However, he is particularly interested in mix methods studies  with vulnerable and marginalized communities. 

Dr. Gunness believes the more we can learn from the most complex communities, but better we can serve the larger population.
