Program Evaluation

Evaluation must be in the early discussion of program planning. Dr. Gunness is known for developing and executing new initiatives using performance metrics as well as making programs sustainable. Examples of his work is measuring the throughput of patients detected with a highly infectious disease and the length of time it takes to access healthcare. He has worked very closely with NYCDOHMH and many federal, state and local agencies during emerging disease outbreaks. 

Dr. Gunness has also mentored and trained public health interns and practitioners to evaluate value-based care, patient satisfaction, web-based referral systems, population health intervention, etc.
