Throughout his career, Dr. Gunness has been a guest lecturer educating and empowering students about public health and healthcare disparities. Most recently, he was the Director, Public Health graduate program at St. John's University in NYC. There, he oversaw the program, advised students, supervised faculty, hosted the national public health symposium, prepared for accreditation, established fieldwork sites, developed course curriculum and created recruitment and retention plans.
Dr. Gunness passion for creating equity for underserved students is like no other such that he brings years of practical experiences into the classroom where his students presented at prestigious scientific symposiums.
He was very pleased when his students met the US Surgeon General.
